Sticky Sweet Surrender To The Goddess

June 3, 2013

Oceanna Soul Signature_ (1)

Everyone was asking me how it went.  They followed my Facebook journey of a vision I’ve had for years that came to me and stuck like honey, sticky and annoying, but oh so sweet and good.  At first I wanted nothing to do with it because it terrified me.  Imagine seeing something so amazing and then finding out that this awesome undertaking is yours?  Terror.   I spent about two years running away from it, avoiding it, denying it.

This vision haunted me, and when I mentioned it to a few friends, they continued to ask me about how it was coming along.  The questions were a blessing and a heavy burden as I wrestled with my longing and fought with perfectionism, divine timing, and a maddening drip of information.  You see, I had snapshots of this vision but no idea of the details, the how, the when, the mechanics.

Pieces began to show up, and I realized slowly that I had to be in a state of complete surrender for this awesome vision to move through me.  I had to be willing to be inside of not knowing, and still put one foot in front of the other.  I have never, in my years of facilitating, leading, and creating, had to surrender this far.  I had to surrender everything.

Realizing this ridiculously vulnerable level of surrender explained my initial terror and the ensuing chaos leading up to the first official event.  We think things happen to us, but truly there is a direct correlation between our resistance and the details of our lives, and how they reflect our inner world perfectly.  Fully aware of this, I chose a date, secured it with a yoga studio, and off we went.  The dramatic stories about not having a space, not knowing who was attending (if anyone), being offered a space out of nowhere, having people I had never even met show up, personal life crises leading up to the date of the event, all of these things were clearly testing my commitment and forcing me to trust.

Imagine meeting someone for the first time who tells you that they heard your name when they were swimming in the ocean two years earlier and so they followed that guidance and did a Google search, which led them to this event face to face that you’ve spent years knowing was yours to manifest?  The Divine was winking hard when I sat in the first sacred circle of this vision and this dear woman told me how she had found me.   This is the type of mad miracle I live with, and similar stories of spontaneous healings, synchronicity, and last-minute saving graces over the years since I dedicated my life to Her work.  I can only surmise that the level to which I am willing to surrender to Grace is in direct proportion to these occurrences of outrageous and magical “coincidence”.

The event was far from what my vision depicts, and yet deep in my belly I have absolutely no doubt that this is the beginning of that creation.  I have had very clear instructions showing up now in the form of signs.  People have expressed a sudden knowing that they are supposed to do this with me.  What I need and desire for support has shown up precisely when I need it.  I feel a fire in my yoni with this vision’s name on it.

How did the first gathering go?  In a few words, it went great and everyone loved it.  They want more.  I want more.  I have been seduced fully by the Divine and cannot resist the allure, the pull, the sweetness of the fulfillment of this vision.  The Goddess Temple is here to stay, and I have fully surrendered.  The orgasmic wave has only just begun to tremble and I will be riding this wave for a long, long, long time.

Work Out Your Love Muscle

May 20, 2013

kissing-self-in-the-mirror

Friendly reminder here.  There are times when we wonder if anyone really loves us.  Ever feel that way?  We want to believe it, and yet there can be this little voice inside that tells us they really don’t.  It tells us that everyone out there has their own best interest in mind, that they’re only being nice, but when push comes to shove they’re just giving us lip service.

I’m here to tell you that getting a handle on that voice is totally an inside job.  There is absolutely nothing you can do to shut it up permanently, but you can certainly turn down the volume and add a new character.  The Self Love Queen, yes, that’s what I’m talkin’ about.

You see, if you begin practicing self-love, you start to notice it everywhere.  People respond to you differently.  Nice things happen.  You get bonus gifts from the universe and happy surprises. Dogs and babies flirt with you, and your popularity gets a major boost.

Think about it.  Why the hell would you like someone who doesn’t even like themselves?  Tough to do, right?!  Sure, you can like them a bit, pity them some, and even get your inner martyr stoked on saving them from their own self loathing, but do you really want to hang out with them much?  It’s depressing because no matter how much love you send their way, they cannot and will not soak it up.  A person who doesn’t love themselves can’t receive more love than they have their inner barometer set for.  It’s similar to water.  It seeks it’s own level.

That said, the most efficient way to love and be loved is to work out your self love muscles.  Practice doing nice things for yourself.  Force yourself to look in the mirror and deliver a genuine compliment.  If you can’t find anything right, then make it up until you can muster some belief about it.  Take some extra time caring for that precious body of yours and start feeding it some fresh, delicious food.  Drink more water.  Take a walk somewhere beautiful.

Give yourself a foot massage with some divinely scented lotion, and finally take a break and read that book you always wanted to read.  When someone gives you a compliment, just say thank you.  Mean it. Locate the place in your life where you feel short-changed and set about giving yourself more.  Whether it’s more friendship, more free time, more laughter, more sex, more gifts, more appreciation…find a way to have more until you feel filled up.  Then do it again.

The only way to receive more is to be a larger container for what you want to receive.  Start flexing those love muscles, my friend, and see what happens.  I’d love to hear about your experiences with this and how you opened your life to more love.

Does Your Perfume Make You Sexy or Sick?

May 18, 2013

perfume woman

According to the ads you see in media, it does.  It smells good, or overwhelming, or subtle and delicious.  It could, however, be so pervasive that it makes people sick in the wake of your departure, grateful to find oxygen again so that they can breathe.

The whole point, however, is to evoke a response and leave the world feeling awed by your freshness or teetering with desire.  Is it the perfume that does this, or is it your confidence while wearing it, or is it the way you expressed yourself?  You’ll never know for certain, I imagine.

What it will not do is shift your aura, rock your chakras into balance, or heal deep-seated emotional scars.  Perfume won’t relieve stress, get you hot to trot, or to help you with easing grief over a lost loved one.  I’ve also never known it to relieve menstrual cramps or to release  old worn-out ways of being. Perfume is simply a chemical formula that mimics the physical scent of powerful healing plant properties.

It’s actually a bit toxic if you think about it.  Perfume is a combination of chemical compounds and artificial fragrances that can wreak havoc on one’s immune system, cause breathing difficulties over time, and trigger allergic responses.

Blooming Essence

Way back when I first began studying aromatherapy, I began to notice a strange response to the commercial perfumes I’d always used.  They didn’t smell as good anymore.  They began to smell like chemicals and I was amazed at how working with pure essential oils could train my nose so quickly.  The pure, natural scents of true plant essences is completely different from the artificial chemical fragrances on the market.  Once one is introduced to the finest, it is impossible to go back.  When an essential oil is one hundred percent pure, most people have no allergic responses to it whatsoever.  Interestingly, it is the chemicals in scents that cause adverse reactions.

I’ve been blending healing essential oil blends now for about 11 years and it never gets old.  The folks who use these incredible oils are always surprised at the subtlety and beauty of how they work.  An aphrodisiac blend truly does evoke passion on many levels.  Our sense of smell is the most primal of all senses, making essential oils a powerful modality for healing or enjoyment.

Healing sessions are deeply integrated with support of an essential oil blend, especially when it’s personalized.  The plant essences work on your energetic system, bringing holistic alignment,  The mind, body and soul are all affected, soothed, healed, and transformed.

From a shamanic perspective, essential oils are a plant spirit collaborative.  The essential oil is not just a sensory experience!  The spirit of each plant works with me when I’m blending, and they stay with the product to aid the person in healing.

It’s impossible in one article to go into the details of all that essential oils hold for healing.  This is a brief overview and a short introduction.  To really gain a sense of the magic and profound power of this healing modality, one need only use a blend that has been created by an expert shamanic aromatherapist.  The results speak for themselves.

Divinely Aromatic Organic Elixirs

May 7, 2013

essential oil lavender

I am beyond thrilled, my peeps!
For years I have whipped up yummilicious products in my kitchen for all manner of spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional healing. When I had cramps, I would blend together healing essential oils into drops that I could massage into my back and get relief.

When I wanted to smell divine, I would simply pull out my case of a kazillion organic essential oils and devote myself to creating something irresistable. When a friend had an issue, such as painfully dry cracked heels, I couldn’t help myself but would immediately set out to conjure up a balm of the most amazingly healing butters, oils, and essences that would conquer the malady…and it would work.

It truly didn’t occur to me that I might want to package and sell these items for quite some years. And when I did think of it, I couldn’t fathom the process of how to package, label or market said items. I didn’t want to bother with it. Content was I to bask in the auras of my herb garden, digging around, drumming in the fairies, journeying into the spirits of the plants to work with me to heal my loved ones.

I did, and still do enjoy taking clients for appointments to create personalized essential oil blends…a process that consists of sitting and talking for a while, taking notes, watching their auras change and shift, and indulging them in smelling all of the fabulous oils I have. The final step is where I blend a special little bottle full of oils that are specific to them, to their issues, to their noses…which aids and supports them through whatever they are going through in their lives at that time.
It’s a joy for me to do these sessions, and it is magical the way the oils work on such a subtle level and do their magical mysterious healing.

That said, the thought of bottling up scents and selling them to the public? I toyed with it for years, started and stopped and had hurdle after hurdle…until now. Finally I employed the support and knowledge of other women in business…entrepreneurs, if you will. Through trial and error, I’ve overcome many challenges, the most of which have been my self doubts.

Today, I am proud to announce that I have succeeded in packaging several of my favorite creations. I am continuing to move forward through my penchant for perfection and settle for less than perfect. They are good enough. They are actually supremely divine say my friends, but my ego will never admit it.
I offer to you the very first of my babies, with many more to follow soon. I am whipping up miracles in my kitchen daily, and brainstorming names.

Beginner’s Guide to Falling In Love With You

April 21, 2013

Image

I want to really talk to you today.  I’ve been thinking so much about self-love and how women just work and please and caretake.  You know, even when I try to write some very basic tidbits on how to begin to indulge in self-care, I run into women who can’t even wrap their minds around a few minutes of self-indulgence.

Someone wrote to me the other day and she was saying she really wanted me to expand on this concept.  She said that if a woman is so deprived of self-love that she has isolated herself and never gets out, where in the world does she start?  I told her that the fastest way to begin was to eye gaze.

It sounds weird, right?!  Eye gazing.  Like, what the heck is that?  And how on earth do you do it with yourself?  It’s actually a tantric technique, and Rumi, that world renown phenomenal poet of divine love, used to become enlightened.  He spent a full year in a room with his teacher simply eye gazing.  He emerged an enlightened being and wrote poetry that to this day touches the hearts of millions.

I tell people to eye gaze because it was where I began my journey to self-love.  Thirty-some years ago I couldn’t look at my own eyes in the mirror for more than a few seconds.  It made me so uncomfortable that I literally could not bear it.  Today, I could do it endlessly, falling deeper and deeper into blissful communion with my Self.  My Self as in the Divine that lives within, the gentle creature that embodies this Self, the vulnerable sweetness of my innocence and the compassion that wells up when I really see me.

So, for today, please try to look into your own eyes, even for 60 seconds.  Allow the discomfort to rise, and see if you can stay with yourself for a few more seconds.  See the tenderness that others see when they look at you. See beyond the face and into the soul, where, if you keep up this practice daily, you will meet the Self that loves you utterly and completely.

Fit For A Goddess

September 18, 2012

Trying on clothing can be a hellish experience for many women.  Our bodies morph with our experiences and flow from cycle to cycle with astounding fluidity.  While shopping with friends this morning, I was trying on all sorts of things off the rack and nothing fit!  I tried many different sizes and shapes, playing with the styles and different fabrics.

What struck me was the voice I began to hear in my head that my body wasn’t small enough here or large enough there, that I was between sizes and therefore my body was wrong.  Having decades of empowerment work and a coaching background behind me, I immediately switched to finding my body right.  This is a move that has taken me years and still requires work because the media feeds off of pointing out to us what’s not right with us to sell us more stuff.

This morning, I decided that all women in earshot of me might benefit from my internal dialogue.  So I stated aloud things like, “Not many things are fitting me here, and so I have no other choice than to determine that whomever designed them is not very well versed in adorning a Goddess.”  I could see a woman across the store looking down whose lips began to curve in a quiet smile.

I followed with, “My body is so stunningly unique that I see I will need to hire someone to create more appropriate designs that flatter the curves I’ve been so blessed with.”  For a little spice, I added, “I’m so disappointed in the lack of creativity I am finding here.  Clearly whomever created this clothing has only one body shape in mind.”

I could go on, but you get the idea.  When you face racks of clothing that hurt, bind, don’t drape well, are too loose or tight across the bust or derriere, what do you tell yourself?  I think that if we stopped blaming our bodies and began to expect more from designers, we’d find it easier to love our bodies and we’d also see a shift in what was offered.  Let’s stop tolerating second best, and instead celebrate the vast variety of body shapes that we are blessed with as women.

Five Simple Steps to Your Soul Recharge

June 23, 2012

Lilies

My clients are all feeling it, I am feeling it, and I suspect you are feeling it.  Time seems to be moving like a rocket ship, and we’re hanging on for dear life, full to busting at the seams with stuff to do, messages to answer, phones ringing, loved ones needing us, catching up, catching up…

When the pace is out of control, there is always a small voice under the din, calling us to come home.  In our current global paradigm shift, we are feeling a higher vibration energy and it is an intense feeling to adjust to.  The answer is to connect to our Source, to align with what nurtures and replenishes us and to plug into a circuit bigger than all that we think we are.

Clarissa Pinkola Estes is a master at knowing what feeds the soul, and her wisdom is timeless.  She urges us to find time to go back to Soul. Soul is where we rest, where we boundary off our personal space, where we don’t do, but rather BE.  Women are especially wise to utilize this advice.  It takes courage and unwavering intention, this going home to our souls.  It can be small breaks of time when we do something that feeds us, such as playing music, doing yoga, meditating, or taking a walk alone.  Spending time connecting to the earth is especially beneficial and aligning.  Some of us need larger spaces of time and solitude to recharge, especially if we are ultra sensitive.

During the winter months when we are having snow storms and freezing cold, Nature beckons us to go inward.  Soul time is necessary to re-pose, review, take stock, discard, reinvent, vision, dream, nourish, and wait patiently for the seeds of what is to come to surface.  When we are surging forth with new and fresh ideas, clamoring to bring our good work into the sunshine in spring and summer, we also need to be mindful of the small breaks that refuel our bodies and souls.  Fighting our natural cycle takes a toll on our vital life force.  From experience, I can tell you that you can indeed take the time you need to rest.  Our minds will tell us different stories, but they are all illusions of attachment, I assure you.

The Five Steps

1 ~ Breathe deep and slow, relaxing your body and settling into the NOW.

2 ~ Allow the idea of new possibilities, letting go of the mind chatter that tells you that time for rest is impossible because of___________________.  Simply replace that thought with the willingness to be open to possibility.

3 ~ Choose a time on your calendar.  Block it out and claim is as sacred.  Intend to keep your promise to yourself.

4 ~ Ask your loved ones to support you in this, and explain that you need this and that you promise to come back, to return to them with even more love and energy as the rejuvenated you.

5 ~ DO IT.  Take the time, do whatever gives your spirit great rest and nurturing, connecting you to your gorgeous, divine Soul.

Saying YES to your exquisite self care is the first step to living into your bliss, my friends.  Thank you for caring  for yourself with compassion, because the waves of love emanate out into this world and make the world a much, much more beautiful place to share.
Blissings & Blessings~

Willingness

June 21, 2011

The very first step towards having what you want is to learn the act of willingness.  It takes a high level of intention to be a conscious creatrix of your reality.  While on the path of learning to master your thoughts, your words, your actions, and your visualizations, it’s important to learn how to navigate towards something better when you feel stuck.

I have seen people so firmly rooted in a fixed pattern at times that they cannot begin to see any possibility of change.  They can’t imagine anything better, or that the crisis they are in at that moment could have any solution whatsoever.  It’s as if they are so entrenched in the small, narrow view they’re holding that they cannot see the forest for the trees.

The best course of action I have found to help is to introduce some “give” in their perspective.  To relax a tiny bit, to allow a glimmer of light into the dark forest, or to have some small amount of slack in the rope that is binding them into knots of anxiety and stress…is the very best way to unravel the knot.

The question to ask is, “Would you be WILLING to have a solution present itself?”  And of course, this willingness is usually just enough to give the universe an opening to work with.  Simultaneously, it is harmless enough for someone to agree to be willing, rather than to commit to finding a solution.  If you have to find it yourself, and you can’t even imagine it ever getting better, how could you agree to that?  You couldn’t.  BUT…you might be WILLING to agree that there MIGHT be a possibility that you don’t know of.

Willingness is a crucial step in bringing possibilities of a brand new creation that our little minds cannot conceive of, but that the Divine Mind is aligning in perfect and elegant timing.

I leave you with today’s lesson to consider.  If you are stuck in a challenge, or you desire something so seemingly out of your realm of imagination, use the tool of willingness.  Say to yourself, “I am willing to be open to a new possibility.”

Is Turning Heads An Outside or Inside Job?

August 30, 2010

Magazine covers would have us believe that beauty is an outside job, and yet our spiritual leaders tell us it all comes from within.  I don’t know about you, but it leaves my head in a tizzy!  I’ve tried every hair color, every type of makeup, dressed myself in every fashion to hit the runways…and unlike the majority, I’ve also studied spirituality from Christianity to paganism and everything in between.

As they say in Maine, ya can’t get they-ya from hee-ya.  What I mean is that as women, we search constantly for a way to attract attention from that special one or many and end up either beautifying ourselves to exhaustion, or giving up completely and neglecting ourselves.  Does this sound familiar?

I dare say I have untangled the confusing information, which I am downright elated to clarify with you here.  It’s something so obvious and simple that I’m flushed that it hadn’t dawned on me earlier.  The truth is that it’s not just an outside job and it’s not just an inside job…it is BOTH

My personal background includes modeling and cosmetology which are outside jobs.  For twenty years I spent most of my time looking in mirrors, primping myself or someone else, expertly assessing my client’s features, taking clothes on and off, strutting down runways and posing for photographers.  I listened to a multitude of women commiserate about their hair, their looks, their boyfriends, husbands, their sex lives, their weight, and their careers.  They told me secrets reserved for therapists, and then some.  The amazing thing is that without exception, after an hour in my chair of being professionally coiffed and primped, they would leave feeling more beautiful.  They sat down, got inner and outer attention and acknowledgment, and left feeling wonderful and radiating more beauty.

The noticeable thing about a woman who feels beautiful is that she carries herself differently.  She smiles more, is conscious of her body and how she’s holding herself, and looks others in the eye with confidence.  A woman can take herself from invisible to queen in minutes just by carrying herself with poise.

Sometimes a woman would come in with her hair an absolute mess, and the transformational mix of hair color, cut and styling would be stunning.  Seeing her transformed physical appearance would shift her emotions about herself and then her self esteem would soar.  At other times a woman whose physicality was breathtakingly beautiful would sit down for me to work on her, and inside of ten minutes her negative attitude would literally change my perception of her and she would appear considerably less attractive bordering on ugly.

It’s up to us how we use the power we have in our hands as women.  We don’t have to wait for someone to tell us how gorgeous we are (although it never hurts!).  We can do it ourselves.  Also, we have the choice of whether to slip into something sexy, touch up our lipstick, and dab on some perfume or simply carry ourselves as if we own the room with the magnetic secret between our thighs.  Beauty is not an either/or proposition…it is an exciting blend of both that we have access to at any time.

Get That Love Fire Roaring, Girlfriends

July 22, 2010

Stuck in a rut?  Not feeling so amorous?  You are in good company, my sisters.  One of the misnomers of marriage and long term relationship is that once you find your soul mate, you live happily ever after.

I am here to break the bad, sad news that “happily ever after” requires commitment and work.  No one likes to hear that, especially since we’ve been fed the storybook ending since we were sitting on mama’s lap looking at board books.  The upside is that you have me, and you have all sorts of support to help make that work fun!

In this short article, I’ll give you a mini introduction to some resources that will kindle the flames again.  Once that’s happening, you can determine if some lighter fluid is necessary, and for that you are welcome to contact me, since that’s my specialty.

To begin, ladies, one thing to remember about men is that they are very visual.  And so, if you’ve gotten accustomed to climbing into bed in your torn t-shirt and old, stained dorm pants, chances are the lights are out already.  Either he’s snoring, or watching tv for a few more hours, or you are feeling so tired and gross that the last thing on your mind is romance.

We’ve got to turn this train around, darlings.   Allow me introduce you to Margaret Shrum.  She is the epitome of ‘goddess’ and the lingerie specialist par excellence.  My amazing friend Margaret is the creatrix of a phenomenal community where you can learn how to indulge your sensuality, awaken your senses, and eternally show up feeling absolutely gorgeous.  Margaret coaches women on how to choose, wear, care for, and overhaul their lingerie collections.  Lingerie is a sure way to make you feel like a real, hot, sexy, confident woman.  Visit her at http://www.thelingeriediet.com.

The next step I’d recommend after indulging yourself in silk and satin is to find a girlfriend or two with great listening skills and ask them to let you cut loose in everything that’s pissing you off lately.  You heard me.  As women, we need to purge and detox the stuff we’ve been holding onto, the resentments, the upsets, and the toxic emotions.  Left too long to simmer, they build up an intimacy chastity belt that any man lucky enough to penetrate is essentially setting himself up for some unsavory interactions.  Poor sucker.  So get that resentment out of your system, and then move on to step number three.

Make a list of everything you adore about your partner.  What is the most adorable trait?  Focus on it, relish it, and appreciate him out loud about it.  Often.  Sandwich special requests between it.  Acknowledge everything he does that is right.  See if you can find three things a day that he’s doing that are good and make acknowledgment a habit.

The next action you can take is to go on a pleasure regimen.  Do something every single day that brings you pleasure.  Rev up your pleasure meter, feed it with delicious experiences and little joys, and don’t get caught without coins.  This is a serious practice, and it will fill you up with desire, which is the key ingredient that men cannot resist.

That’s it for today, girlfriends!  I’ll be checking back in to see how you did, so make me proud!

Blissings~
